Editor constantly needing to save/check out unedited device uassets in map causing major disruption

Summary

Frequently devices map uassets become “dirty” and need resaving even though no work or editing has been done on the uasset. Returning to latest snapshot, will resolve until any attempt to save or validate work.

Now because of these these assets become very quickly checked out and then becasue revision control prevents a user from editing a checked out uasset, they are unable to save and then become blocked from testing or validating.

Completely replacing the uasset will normally resolve the issue but it’s becoming harder and harder to replace devices within the world with a team of 10 people working 24 hours a day. Is there a way to see what is making these uassets dirty? Reference viewer in UEFN isn’t anywhere near as helpful as in Unreal Engine.

Expected Result

Saving/Validating project when no changes made will not save require usassets to be resaved.

Our team is also running into this same issue!

FORT-965322 has been created and its status is ‘Unconfirmed’. This is now in a queue to be reproduced and confirmed.

Here is a video showing our current workflow from building verse to validation. Along with the save modal, we see other verse error modals that appear to be false positives in our project related to scene graph issues.

Same issue in different projects, everytime I build verse code or push verse code, some custom device become dirty and require to be saved

Same thing happens to me. Always checking out a device that is not even touched. Makes simple co-working a nightmare experience.

This happens to me too, but only occasionally. And most often these devices that need to be saved while I haven’t even touched them are VFX Spawners.
