Edit Session Persistence Not Loading

Summary

Since the v34.00 release, verse persistence does not load in Edit Sessions 90% of the time even though “Import Live Data” is set for the island setting “Persistence Behavior: Edit Session”. Constantly building verse code and pushing changes occasionally fixes it but even then it loads less then 10% of the time.

Platform(s)

PC

Additional Notes

This happens on every project I have loaded with verse persistence.

Verse persistence only appears in the released live session.

Oh my god yes. Same here this is actually killing me inside, because I use verse persistence to load perms to open custom admin menus to help with testing stuff.

If anyone finds a workaround please let me know

Yep I do something similar🤣 Luckily I haven’t noticed any issues with this in live sessions for players but regardless it is causing a huge inconvenience for testing new features in the edit session

I stuck with the same issue…

We are encountering the same issue with Live Data not loading in Edit Sessions. It does work in Playtests / Codes however.

Here’s a video demonstrating the bug and the steps

  • Step 1: Go Inside the Live Version of the Map, (In this example it’s a simple system which saves a number and adds/removes from it with the use of buttons)
  • Step 2: Make sure the data is saved (I set the number to “11” left and joined a new session to verify “11” being saved)
  • Step 3: Launch the edit Session from UEFN for that project (Also make sure “Persistence Behavior: Edit Session is set to “Import Live Data” in the IslandSettings”)
  • Step 4: Once the Edit Session has launched and the game is started it will initially correctly pull the live data (Shows Number “11”), however if a change is then made in UEFN (e.g. Just moving around a prop, and then Changes are Pushed and a new Module Version is made, it will NO Longer utilize the Live Data)
