Summary

Duplicating a hierarchy in the outliner is unstable lately.

What Type of Bug are you experiencing?

Stability

Steps to Reproduce

In the outliner, right click on a folder containing assets to open the menu.

Choose " Duplicate hierarchy".

Expected Result

The folder with all it’s content should be duplicated as a separate, new folder.

Observed Result

The parent folder does not get duplicated, instead the children in it get duplicated into the existing folder. It now contains 2 duplicates of all it’s original children.

Platform(s)

Windows 11

Additional Notes

My island is getting a little crowded (Slightly more than 4000 actors). Please let me know if that could be the cause. I also had the case were duplicating a big hierarchy (A couple hundred actors) did not do anything at all. For easier placement in the level I like to keep as many single meshes as long as possible before ISM-ing them into single actors.

Hi @AtAshTag ,

Yes, that’s exactly the same bug. I am still able to workaround it by creating a new folder with the duplicates still selected right after duplicating them, and rename that new folder and move it where I want it.

I also noticed that sometimes, but not always, the pop up menu for moving items into other folders in the outliner does not sort the list in alphabetical order. Not sure if this is related, but I wanted to mention it.
