I couldn’t find any reference to this, but I want to drag some meshes from the Content Browser to the viewport, and have them automatically appear at the origin. Right now they are placed wherever and I need to alter their position manually. This seems horribly inefficient so I’m sure there’s a way to have them automatically start at the Origin (0,0,0) location, but I haven’t found it.
(1) You can leave the details panel open, and hit the yellow ‘revert to defaults’ button next to the transform lines. It’s easier than typing 0, 0, 0
(2) Once you’ve dragged everything in, you can group select it (click on the first, shift-click on the last) and Hit that ‘revert to defaults’ button next to the transform lines. It will pop them all to 0,0,0
(3) Set the world grid to something huge (like 10,000). Everything you drag in will be snapped to the origin.
I don’t think there’s a shortcut key for it, though.
Oh that works perfectly! I tried it and #2 of your answer works good enough. I found out that it’s possible to grab multiple objects from the CB and toss them in, then use the yellow ‘revert to defaults’ button to snap them all in place as they will all be selected at that point.
If anyone thinks of trying it, do pay attention that tossing multiple objects onto the scene at once will cause UE4 to process for a while, so be careful with what you toss.
The yellow arrow is acceptable for me, if combined with multi-selection. Thank you, DigitalMage!
hello there, am using UE5 and i encountered the same problem but i really didn’t get the solution since am a newbie so please if possible more explanation will be appreciated
Thank you
