Hello! I am using this tutorial to get to grasp with post process effects, and when I get to the Depth of Field section, (around 35:44) I see that the tutor has more options than I have available. The only options I have for DOF are:
Focal Distance - The only one that seems to affect anything
Depth Blur km for 50% - both state they are for “CircleDOF only”
Depth Blur Radius - Above
So my question is what am I missing here? I am guessing there were changes made to the DOF… I am just trying to find out how to make my “focal area” larger if that makes sense… As of right now, the only value that seems to change anything is the Focal Distance.
DOF is controlled by camera lens settings that allow for more realistic camera setups. Look at this for a good rundown on how it all works:
https://docs.unrealengine.com/en-US/Engine/Rendering/PostProcessEffects/DepthOfField/index.htm
So you are saying that the depth of field options have been deprecated or are now in the camera settings? I see that things changed in 4.23
If I use the DOF visualization tool, it shows that my background is blue and my foreground is green and my focal length is black, just as it should. However when i turn off the visualization, it is as if there is no DOF being applied. The only way I can get DOF to show is by setting the focal distance very very low, which blurs everything.
Yes, BokehDOF has been deprecated. The following link will explain the new system:
Same here, does anybody know how to get proper dof with normal camera?

I wish I could help, I have no idea why DOF is such a pain.
