Does light build quality or lightmap resolution affect frame rate?

Hi guys

I’m using VRay to build lighting for an interior architectural scene with high quality and lightmap resolutions.

My frame rate is too low compared to other projects I’m working on.

Is it possible that light build quality or lightmap resolution affect frame rate?

Light building and it’s assocated baggage wont directly affect frame rate, because it’s all done before hand. That’s the point, apart from getting things to look better.

Having said that, it can affect memory. Maybe that’s your problem?

The frame rate was improved significantly, surprisingly by just hiding the VRay light sources after light build. I’m not sure why, but the frame rate is reasonable now, compared to the default lightmass bake of Unreal Engine.
