Greetings @frame1193
Welcome to the Unreal Engine forums. I assume we’re looking at the ‘Failed to find GPUs with Vulkan support’ issue as the main problem. Did you have this issue on previous updates/versions or did it just show up after updating or something of that nature? Also, which GPU do you currently use?
Hi. I have same problem. I updated to version 5.2. Decided to test the metahuman animation. At the last step of preparing metahuman and clicking on “Prepare for Perfomance” I get this error. I have rtx3070 laptop. I downloaded vulcan drivers, but it didn’t help.

Hello, if you haven’t solved this problem, I have a solution, maybe it will help you. It worked for me. I am using a laptop and the problem was solved by disabling the integrated graphics processor in device manager. Maybe this will work for you, because as far as I know, modern processors also have an integrated graphics card.
Hello, I have same problem. I am using UE5.2.1,
System: iMac Pro Windows 10 64bits
Video Card: Radeon Pro Vega 64X (16GB)
Memory: 64GB
CPU: Intel(R) Xeon(R) W-2140B CPU @ 3.20GHz
When I click “Prepare to Performance” button, I got the follwoing errors:
MetaHumanMeshTracker: Error: (VulkanDevice.cpp, l219): failed to create logical device (vulkan error code -7)
MetaHumanMeshTracker: Error: (FaceTrackingAPI.cpp, l156): failure to initialize: Critical error (VulkanDevice.cpp, l219): failed to create logical device (vulkan error code -7)
VulkanDevice.cpp, 1219:
How to fix the issue? Please help us.
@FrostyJas Please help us, thanks!
Hi everybody! @FrostyJas is there any news of this issue? I’m having same errors on iMac with Windows 10 installed and Unreal Engine 5.3.2
Greetings @grishchenkoff
Welcome to the Unreal Engine Forums! Is this is ‘Failed to find GPUs with Vulkan support’ error that you’re getting? If so, can you provide your system specs for me? I’d be happy to work with you on it. Thanks!
Hi @FrostyJas
No, the error is
failed to create logical device (vulkan error code -7)
I am using UE5.3.2,
System: iMac 27, Windows 10 64bits
Video Card: AMD Radeon Pro 580X with 8GB of GDDR5 memory
Memory: 48GB
CPU: 3.6GHz 8-core Intel Core i9
Here is the record about supporting this GPU by Vulkan on Windows
@FrostyJas so, no ideas? If there are any developers on forum to ask?
The error you posted appears to be something different than the original post. I’d be happy to check into it. The post above was having an issue that seemed to be caused by the prep/process overwhelming their GPU and causing the device to fail. I’d need to get the full error log from you on the crash you’re having to look into that. If you can post it, I’ll be happy to check up on it. Thanks!
@FrostyJas yes, you are right, it’s different than original, but later in discussion I found message from @WangAocheng with the same problem as mine:
After clicking “Prepare to Performance” button, we got these errors:
MetaHumanMeshTracker: Error: (VulkanDevice.cpp, l246): failed to create logical device (vulkan error code -7)
MetaHumanMeshTracker: Error: (FaceTrackingAPI.cpp, l178): failure to initialize: Critical error (VulkanDevice.cpp, l246): failed to create logical device (vulkan error code -7)
hi
i had same error
MetaHumanMeshTracker: Error: (VulkanDevice.cpp, l120): failed to find GPUs with Vulkan support
MetaHumanMeshTracker: Error: (FaceTrackingAPI.cpp, l156): failure to initialize: Critical error (VulkanDevice.cpp, l120): failed to find GPUs with Vulkan support
and my GPU is NVIDIA 3060 Ram is 32GB
Hi @twjohnsontsai and @grishchenkoff
Do you have your onboard GPU enabled, by chance? The second thing I’d go to check out is the specific Vulkan drivers for your GPU’s. Below are links to both the AMD and NVIDIA sections on those. If all else fails I’d consider fully uninstalling/reinstalling my GPU drivers with a driver uninstall tool. I use things such as DDU for that. (This is a third party app I personally use and it is not software from EPIC. You’re free to use whatever you’d like)
Hi:
I am using a dedicated NVIDIA 3060 graphics card. I have already uninstalled the graphics card drivers using DDU and then reinstalled the latest drivers for the NVIDIA 3060. However, the issue still persists.
MetaHumanMeshTracker: Error: (VulkanDevice.cpp, l120): failed to find GPUs with Vulkan support
MetaHumanMeshTracker: Error: (FaceTrackingAPI.cpp, l156): failure to initialize: Critical error (VulkanDevice.cpp, l120): failed to find GPUs with Vulkan support
Hey gang!
I am also facing a similar issue with UE versions 5.2 and 5.3:
MetaHumanMeshTracker: Error: (VulkanDevice.cpp, l134): failed to find GPUs with Vulkan support
I’m running an NVIDIA 4070, Windows 11, i7
I went so far as to use a DDU and reinstall drivers as well.

Oddly enough my laptop with a 3070, Windows 11, i9 is able to Process for Performance… Maybe someone could help me find the correct settings and we A/B them???
Thanks!
M
Greetings @twjohnsontsai and @GetitMikeyyy
I’d recommend going to the post I have above that has the link the Vulkan Drivers and go from there. After that, let me know if the issue persists even afterward. Thanks!
Hi!
I am still facing this problem:
MetaHumanMeshTracker: Error: (VulkanDevice.cpp, l134): failed to find GPUs with Vulkan support
MetaHumanMeshTracker: Error: (FaceTrackingAPI.cpp, l178): failure to initialize: Critical error (VulkanDevice.cpp, l134): failed to find GPUs with Vulkan support
I have already updated the driver through the link Vulkan Drivers. And this problem occurred when preparing for performance. My GPU is RTX 4080 Laptop. What can I do to fix it?
Thanks!
