Our church use Unreal engine to make some special effects for our gospel videos. We share videos for free and never make money. Do we have to add the credit notice “[Product Name] uses the Unreal® Engine. Unreal® is a trademark or registered trademark of Epic Games, Inc. in the United States of America and elsewhere.” and “Unreal® Engine, Copyright 1998 – xxxx, Epic Games, Inc. All rights reserved.”? If we must add it, where should we add it? At the end of the video? Can we make it shorter? Such as just a sentence: This video uses the Unreal® Engine. Is it mandatory?
For noninteractive video, it’s OK if you leave the credit off.
Also, cool use of the engine!
Yes, I’m Epic’s lawyer
Can I take this as an official answer from Unreal Engine^_^ Just wanted to respect this amazing software:)
Thank you!
What about VR application? I should include the credit right? Thanks.
Correct, yes.
@atypic Does this mean you do not have to list the EPIC credits if you are using to create a video that will appear on streaming services because it is linear and not interactive?
