displacement Issues

Hello everyone
I’m trying to simulate some carvings on a low poly mesh and to do so made a displacement map.
This is the mash

and by using vray displacement I get this

In UE4 I got this, a very rough surface

what did I miss?
using low poly mesh is important to me and also don’t wanna use bump or normal instead

Details like this are impractical to be achieved using geometry only for real-time purposes. You need dense mesh and high tessellation factor. Consider baking normal map for that instead.
