i have this landscape material and when i use tessellation / displacement i can see tears / seams on the landscape as shown in the following video:
i tried having constant as tessellation multiplier instead of a parameter, tried various displacement textures, also tried that crack free displacement option that doesnt seem to work (does not tessellate the landscape properly or something is wrong with the coordinates, but also produces huge tears / seams)
Definitely its a material-> tesellation problem. Can you provide any source material to recreate the artifact? (Such as textures and most important the material settings)
i created a new scene as simple as it gets, and the problem is still there. its not as exaggerated but its still there.
when you open the scene, dont move the view, the tear is just in front of you.
(selecting the landscape makes tears more visible because of the yellow outline)
Has there been any update to this? I know nanite is the new tessellation, but I’m experiencing the same problem on my terrain that shown in your video. The tears always seem to reside along the edges of the terrain topology and whether or not they are immediately observable is dependent on the viewing angle. From one POV, terrain looks great, from another, there are clearly seams.
