discontinued spline mesh

I have a plane mesh that is laid out along the spline.
I’m facing at the moment 2 problems:

  1. spline mesh is discontinued leaving quite visible gap between meshes.
  2. spline mesh doesn’t curve properly along the spline. I played around with tweaking tangents as discussed [here][1] but didn’t seem to help.

With linear point type there are no gaps but I need nice smooth curve.

I am having this exact issue, did you ever solve it?
