Summary
Disabling the “Show Rarity Effects” option on the Item Placer device does not disable the rarity effects on weapon attachments specifically, this only affects weapons with weapon attachments such as Modular, Ballistic, and other Post Chapter 6 weapons.

Place any weapon with weapon attachments (examples attached) in an Item Placer device and set the “Show Rarity Effects” option to OFF
Expected Result
Rarity effects should stop appearing on the entire weapon
Observed Result
Rarity effects still appear on weapon attachments only

This is probably an oversight from when weapon attachments (and wraps) would not show on the gun, which was later fixed
