Directional light passing through everything

So I’ve used ue for years but I have never been this stumped. The first picture is when I have a directional light, and the second one is when I don’t have a directional light. I want to have a directional light but i dont want it lighting up the inside of the ship. I am not using lumen the meshes are 2 sided materials and solid not a plane. how would i do this? I tried lighting channels but that didnt work.

I can only think of two reasons this would happen. You either have no faces on the outside of the ship, or you don’t have shadows enabled on the directional light.

*Oh, I read your post again. Two sided materials won’t block light. You need to create a mesh barrier to block the light. By using a 2-Sided material you’re not saving any polys, so you might as well disable that and then add the missing backfaces or create a poly based light blocker mesh that you can toggle off when you’re on the other side if you don’t want it to be seen by the player.
