Why isn’t the direct link plugin baked into Revit 2024 upgradable to be compatible with the latest version of Twinmotion for Revit? Am I stuck with TM 2023.2 forever? Architectural projects don’t get updated to the latest Revit version when you have multiple disciplines and firms collaborating on a project that can last years. We need to be able to direct link to the current version of Twinmotion from all supported versions of Revit.
UPDATE!
After some banging around this morning I discovered I can get the link to work manually between Revit 2024.2.x and Twinmotion 2024.1 with the following steps:
- Open both TM and Revit. Open your Revit project and navigate to a 3D view.
- If you attempt a direct link import in TM it will show “No source available”
- In Revit’s Twinmotion menu select “Open in Twinmotion” and let it fail. (It will tell you TM is not installed.) Close the dialog.
- Now repeat the direct link import in TM and you should see your Revit project is now selected as the source. Choose your options and import.
- Go back to Revit and synchronize and your model should appear in TM.
