I am having trouble getting emissive and translucent materials to work how I want.
It glows, but it doesn’t cast light out into the environment like it does when set to opaque.
Is this even supported with translucent materials? if so, how do I use it?
Hey there @diddlysquat2! Unfortunately Lumen emissive lighting isn’t compatible fully with Translucency in general. There’s issues with the screenspace and depth elements of the way Lumen works when it comes to Translucency.
One workaround (that isn’t great) that I’ve seen users use is to duplicate the actor, make the opaque one bigger, and one translucent. Make the opaque one a child of the translucent one, then set the opaque one’s details as “Hidden in game” and “Affect’s lighting while hidden”. Then you can get an approximation, but obviously this is a whole extra mesh and isn’t ideal.
