I assume this is not standard BT functionality so it might be a bit tricky.

Unfortunately it’s not possible with BT:(
But… it will be possible in my new plugin which I’m developing now.
I’ve got a lot of experience by developing dialogue system. And I see that using BT not so easy as I thought. Blackboard, Main Service, Question and question groups…it looks very bulky, not to mention some conflicts with AI.
So, I decided to create my own graph. It will be more convenient, intuitive, and easy to setup.

It’s still in early development.

Some suggestions, purely out of wish to help - and I don’t know would they be easy to implement - but I suppose you might get some handy ideas.

Import from chat mapper! (and the like interactive text editors) (so not everyone needs to have a computer strong enough to run ue)
Integrated into blueprints so flags can be triggered, or stats updated, or whathaveyou (and I suppose this is already in blueprints?)
Consistent node colors (e.g. black for the world, white for PC)
(or perhaps, always on the same node, with +option like you used - that’s fantastic btw! - for PC’s input)

  • you used different colors? What are they for? Would it be possible to set custom colors for each node? Well, with import from chat mapper this isn’t really necessary as you wouldn’t likely be writing in ue, though since I do have a strong enough computer, I would always prefer to write within the editor; which brings me to the next point
    Play from here - gives you the feels for testing out; not to mention checking for typos

I didn’t mean to just throw in a bunch of ideas, I’m sure you have your own list of priorities - I only hope it helps!

I’m really excited about your work!! However there’s no way to make DialogueSystem plugin to work correctly (I’m using 4.10.4 version of UE4 and 1.6 of DialogueSystem).

I can see it in plugins in the editor, but when I click on enable, nothing tells me that I should restart, and when I restart the project manually, it’s telling me: ā€œMissing of incompatible module…You should disable Dialogue Systemā€ or something like that.

Any idea?

Hello! For UE 4.10 you should use 1.5.2 version. Get it here: http://mavrinsoft.ru/apps/DialogueSystem%20v1.5.2.zip

so, i get the 1.5.2 version, i’m using the 4.10.4 and i have the same error, when i check the box, the engine restart and show me the " Missing of incompatible module"

Not a programmer at all, so something like this will definitely make my little project allot easier! =]

The 4.12 is already in development and works greatly. But the public version will prolly have all these new features.

How would I get access to it?

I assume I would need to get it through Github. Will I need to do anything ā€˜special’? (compiling stuff?)

right click on *.uproject file -> Switch Unreal Engine version… select version. Done:)

that does not work ^^ Your newest plugin breaks a bunch of nodes. And not the 4.12.
