Depth of Field Flickering Issue

Hi,

I’ve been having a really frustrating flickering issue on my character. The edges are flickering.

I have searched the entire internet for a fix (to the point where I’m going to 2nd and 3rd pages on Google searches). Nothing seems to work.

I have tried:

  • Disabling AA
  • Switching between every AA method
  • Various console commands
  • Increasing brightness of lights and lowering exposure compensation
  • Doing the reverse of that
  • Enabling Hardware Raytracing
  • etc etc.

I would love to get any suggestions to fix it! Been trying to solve this issue for 6+ hours :')

It seems like it’s an issue with DX12 DoF: https://forums.unrealengine.com/t/ue5-dof-flickering/1366598/8

Unfortunately, there’s no real fix for it for now. I’ve tried switching the RHI to DX11 and it worked, but DX12 is required for some features, e.g. Nanite.

I’m a bit late to the conversation. But, what Slavq mentioned was pretty on point. Changing the project to DX11 will probably fix it. But, you’ll sacrifice DX12 features to do so.
