Deferred Rendering Screenspace Reflection Issues when rendering 4K + Up

Hello,

When using deferred rendering at 4K , I seem to have a consistent issue across all projects (even when made from the UE5 Default template and sun&sky), where it has a real issue with reflective materials.

  • This issue does not appear in editor.
  • It does not appear when doing path tracing renders.
  • I recently discovered it also does not occur if the render is below 4K. I’ve tested it 1080p and 1440p renders, and the issue seemed to no longer be present.
  • My renders use the default settings in the movie render queue. There’s nothing particularly interesting or deviant from the recommended settings.
  • This issue is consistent and repeatable across all my projects.
  • My GPU is an RTX 3090.
  • This issue does not occur in deferred detail lighting mode renders.

However, the nature of my work requires 4K to be an option.

I’ve included visual examples of my issue, comparing different settings.

Hi,
I’m having the exact same issue. I tried to work arround it with hi res tiling, but then I get splodgy ugly shadows!!

Did you find the solution?

No, we did not find a solution.
Currently, I’ve resorted to just rendering at 3K, or with path tracing.

Disappointing!
Yep that’s my workaround too - rendering in 3620x2015 resolution
