Deferred decal not showing unless directly lit by point light

I want to place some decals on a wall. But unless the wall is strongly lit by direct lighting, the deferred decals don’t show up at all even though there should be plenty of light to make them visible. What’s the trick to get a deferred decal (or some other type of decal) to show on a wall that isn’t being flooded with a spot or point light?

You have to enable dbuffer decals in your project settings, then switch the decal material’s type to one of the dbuffer types. Hope that helps!
