When we try ES3.1 they work fine until you hit play, then when you get to a certain distance they start to pixelate, flicker, and then disappear. Please see video below. We’ve tested it on multiple machines (PC and MAC) and the problem seems to only exist on the 2018 Macbook Pros. The one we’re testing on has an i9 CPU and a Vega 20 gfx card.
As the creator of said decals EmpireLion contacted me with his problem.
Trying to find a solution, I tested these decals again on a number of machines and configuration to see if the problem is with the decals themselves, a project setting or his hardware configuration.
The decals in question were tested on these configurations:
AMD Ryzen 7 1800X - NVIDIA GeForce
GTX 1080 Ti - Windows 10
AMD Ryzen 7 1800X - NVIDIA GeForce
GTX 1080 Ti - Windows 7
MacBook Pro Retina Late 2013 -
Sierra, High Sierra and Mojave
Mac mini Late 2018 - Intel Core i7,
3,2 GHz, Coffee Lake - Razer Core X
Vga box with a Vega 64. - Mojave
All running on latest drivers and os updates.
Unreal Engine versions tested, 4.19.2, 4.20.3 and 4.21.1
The decals were tested on new blank
projects.
The decals were tested on progressed
projects.
The decals were tested on a project
sent to me by EmpireLion.
EmpireLion himself tested the decals
on another machine (Windows PC) and
they worked as intended.
The decals were tested using SM5, SM 4, ES 3.1, ES 2
Replication of the behavior the decals exhibit on EmpireLion’s hardware was not possible on my part.
