Decal color bit depth produces banding

Decal materials have noticable banding between darker values, and I can’t find a way to smooth the banding like textures do with biliniear filtering. Heres a picture of what i mean:

Anyone know how to fix this issue? maybe there’s a setting somewhere im missing?

I think the dbuffer just has a low bit depth, I haven’t found a way to fix it fully or any setting to increase it. In some cases you can use the decal response feature and then use multiple channels of the dbuffer to combine into one higher depth output, but it’s somewhat complicated and niche. I’d see about using dithering in the decal material to hide the banding.
