We’re not going to make a change right now, but I did want to ask if sellers are trying compression sites like tinypng.com. Has anyone found success using sites like this to reduce the size of your images?
I’ll give that a go next time I publish a product. I’ve had to use Photoshops save for web features recently which isn’t really ideal. Maybe that’s a better alternative. At the very least if it’s something you guys can take into consideration for the future that’d be great. The external link at least saves on hosting costs if that’s the worry. The forums make use of that feature very well. =)
Typically the images will still be too large after compression. The 1MB requirement is very very restricting.
Hi @Unreal_Josh,
I’ve 4 plugins waiting for updates:
Prefab Tool:
1.0.3.1 update submitted on 8.15
1.0.4 update submitted on 8.24
1.0.5 update submitted on 9.14
Mesh Tool:
1.0.8 update submitted on 8.24
Instance Tool:
1.2.4 update submitted on 9.14
Pivot Tool:
1.0.7 update submitted on 9.14
I can understand that it might have to take 4 months for initial review, but why some minor product updates still requires such long process time is puzzling me.
I want to mention people saw in unreal a promising and solid way of making an income, problems have been around with the marketplace for too long so i just hope epic finally invest the required resouces to make this work, like the same effort put on creating new engine versions every few months.
(tcp plugin for 4.17 waiting update on marketplace and pawn360 new submission)
Looks like we can close this thread.
See Hundreds of New Packs Available in September! - Marketplace - Unreal Engine Forums
Why close the thread? Everything is still unacceptably slow and there are still people that haven’t had their updates processed.
Correct. Moreover, the portal no longer shows any of our products or the current pending package. It was all better years ago.
So… All of my tools have been submitted for UE4.18 upgrade, they all passed and the portal says plugin updates have been processed;
However, nobody (including myself) can download these new versions of the plugins from Launcher when targeting Unreal 4.18.
I know this is a new system, and avoids the mess with lost update emails (great!), but seems like this new update system isn’t working quite yet.
Funny thing is… I’m able to download most of plugins.
Couldn’t download Instance Tool and yours Object Pool. After some random clicking (download other plugins) gods decided to allow me for downloading Instance Tool. It just worked.
No luck with Object Pool though…
@Unreal_Josh I am submitting new plugin update file links… but nobody is actually processing these new links submitted. Updates stay stuck there in the product page “waiting for Epic”…
Hi Bruno,
It looks like you last made an update yesterday, so it was indeed waiting for a member of Epic to review. Updates do require a person to review it, so it is not a fully automated process.
Josh
