I cant find any info will datasmith will work with earlier versions of 3ds Max.
That would be great because I think many people including me want to get into Unreal Studio but we cant due to 3ds Max version.
Supporting 3ds Max 2013-2015 is a dead end for us. We’d also have to support V-Ray and Corona from that timeframe. How long would you expect us to support 2013? Forever? We simply don’t have the resources to support every version of 3ds Max (and V-Ray and Corona) since 2013 into the indefinite future. We’d stop making features and spend all our time testing/debugging things that aren’t working anymore. Sorry, we stay current with the last 3 versions of 3ds Max and that’s the best we can do.
**Stephen Ellis - thanks mate, this is all I wanted to know Well I guess I need to get my new max already
kenpimentel - wow, sorry for asking You had a bad day or something ? Where in my post is anything about expecting anything from You guys ? “Forever?” - what that suposed to mean ? Datasmith did not support 2013 so what do You mean by that ?
I just asked a question… because I couldnt find any info on that… Thats all … btw. Stephen already answer so I dont know why You went to “How long would you expect us” …

The currently available 4.20 Previews have support for 3ds Max 2019. Download the latest exporter plugin installer for the 4.20 Preview on the Downloads page - Datasmith - Unreal Engine
Or if you don’t want to use the Preview, it’s just a few weeks until the official 4.20 release occurs.
Sorry! Email doesn’t always relay the tone the way I want it to. I was just stating the problem we face by asking the questions that come up on this subject (you’re not the first). I’ll be more careful in the future, thanks for bringing it to my attention.
