Custom Timer Widget and HUD Controller Custom Player Profile Widget - Timer Widget Dissapear on UI

Summary

I have two Custom Timer Widgets for my Timer Devices inside a Lego Island, and also using HUD Controller Device with Player PRofile Widget made in Widget Blueprints.

I have made the timer layers in Widget Blueprint to be 99 and 98 while the layers in Player profile is 0,1 and 2 (zOrder).

So when you playtest a UEFN Session, the timers will show up (sometimes), but in a published island if there is one player the widgets for timer might show, but if more than 1 player for some players the timer widgets dissapear. I have set both these timers to be visible to ALL. I have also had reports from players on PS5 that the timers don’t show up at all.

Steps to Reproduce

Add HUD Controller Device

  • Add Widget Blueprint and add to Player Profile in HUD Controller Device
Add 2 Timer Devices (Visible to ALL)
  • Create two Widget Blueprints for Timers
  • Add widget blueprint to timers (widget) to have custom timer widget.

Publish private island, add more then 2 players. Sometimes the timers show up, sometimes only for one player even though the timers are set for ALL.

PS. Two version of UEFN ago, the timers on published island was working. Since two last updates it’s not working anymore.

Expected Result

I’m not sure why the timers are not showing up. I’m seeing this mostly when you have a Custom Timer Widget and a HUD Controller Device with Player Profile override. I also don’t know why PS5 players can’t see the timers at all with custom widget.

Observed Result

Timer Devices with Custom Widget Blueprints don’t want to show in published islands, especially when you have a HUD Controller Device with Player Profile Widget override. Also doesn’t show at all in PS5 according to playtesters.

Additional Notes

Currently published island 2286-3669-1180 when playing there should be atimer in the bottom corner as per the attachment. But it sometimes show up, sometimes not. If several players, it dissapears for some. For PS5 players doesn’t show up at all as can be seen in video.

I’m having the same issue. Did you u manage to figure it out?

Working for me now,

Edit: disappeared again

FORT-965042 has been created and its status is ‘Unconfirmed’. This is now in a queue to be reproduced and confirmed.

Having the same issue with the HUD Controller in general in both edit sessions and live games. It also seems to stop working when a player is spectating. Basically the device has no effect on the players ui.

I have this issue as well. My custom timer widget shows fine on PC and Nintendo Switch but not at all on PS5.

Just to make sure it wasn’t an issue with my widget, I also tried using the timer widgets directly from Epic’s UI example project and these behaved the same as my own widget. Only the default timer widget will appear on PS5.

Hi there. In the previous update it seems it was fixed and my timers was working again. But since the last update this week, they are again coming and going as they please. For players on PC they sometimes get the timer sometimes not when the HUD Controller is there. While mobile players now sometimes don’t get the timer at all.
