Summary
when picking up a custom item using the custom items and inventory, you will be unable to equip it.
if you hold a gun then attempt to swap to this custom item, you will remain holding the gun but you will be unable to shoot.
to fix the issue just pickup another item, or hold a normal fortnite item and shoot

pick up a custom item made with the custom items and inventory
you will be unable to visually equip the item, even in the hotbar
Expected Result
apon picking up the custom item you will be able to equip it

you cannot equip the item until you pick up another item or you shoot your gun
