Just had the same problem. I enabled custom items and inventories on one of my maps and gold got capped at 10K. Hope this will be 100% fixed when the 41.30 update drops at the end of this month, I can’t update my map until then since players have millions of gold saved up. RIP.
Same I tested it right when the update came out since players have been waiting for an update that needs custom items to be on to be released, had to announce that it is now delayed until the next update (or worse)
Hey, would subclassing the gold preserve the existing save point data and automatically work with other gold related devices, such as item granters, conditional buttons and item removers? We have a map that has custom items and inventories off and players already have millions of normal gold saved in it.
Hi again, I gave it a shot. I was able to edit the stack size on the new entity prefab. However, this does not solve my issue, as my map is built on the normal Gold item, not a custom prefab. I have Item Granters, Item Removers, Conditional Buttons, and a Save Point device that use the normal Gold item and not a custom prefab.
Additionally, players have millions of normal Gold already saved up in the map, which they would lose since it is still capped at 10,000.
Would it not be possible to set the normal Gold stack size to what it would be when Custom Items and Inventories are disabled (2,147,483,647) Thanks!
What shes saying is to use the gold stack to increase ? Im confused as to why your using this custom item method if your island works on normal devices ect anyway ? Also i didnt try but i would assume that when switching over the gold stack/item would work with devices ect i would be shocked if it didnt ?
That is not backwards compatible with already existing and published maps, causing data loss and being a regression on some things (ex. save data device items and other 1.0 devices)
When you have a map that is using standard Gold (to be used with Vending Machines, Item Placers and Item Granters) and then you want to use Custom Items and Inventory system for anything else (it’s not important for what), then if you just enable that checkbox for it in the Project Settings, it will cause that if a player with a large amount of Gold accumulated from before joins the map for the first time after the update, all his Gold above 10,000 is instantly dropped to the ground.
Also experiencing this to be not fixed in 41.30. We have item granter, remover, conditional etc set up and it seems the SceneGraph suggestion of changing the stackable component is not backwards compatible with our save point data that’s been reliable for the last 2+ years on some maps.
Just wanted to also add while this thread seems to be mostly discussing gold cap at 10k, we are also experiencing other resources (e.g. gems, ores) capping at 999 which is also an issue.
Hopefully, this fix will make it to the next patch have to delay all my custom items because I can not enable custom items as long as the cap is sill 10k
On the bright side I now have more time to polish the custom Items
