Ctrl+S is invalid when Sequencer is in a floating window

Hello [mention removed]
Thank you for reaching out and bringing this issue to our attention.
I’ve noticed you haven’t tagged an engine version, so I assumed you are using 5.6, but in my tests using this version, CTRL+S is saving the sequence normally, be it docked, floating, or not in focus.
Can you let me know what version of the engine you are using?
If it is indeed version 5.6, could you elaborate a bit more on the repro steps?
All the best,

Hi, [mention removed]
This issue can be stably reproduced in versions 5.5 and 5.6 on any computer. To be safe, please use the latest public branch for 5.6 through the Epic Games Launcher. Test platform: Windows 11, dual monitors, 4K resolution. I’ve provided a video; please verify if the operations align. The video shows no clicking of the save button, only frequent pressing of Ctrl+S. You can observe that saving succeeded only after the floating window was docked.
Hello [mention removed]
Thank you for the explanation and the video, now I was able to reproduce the issue.
I saw what I was doing differently: I added an element from the Outliner to the undocked Sequencer, and by pressing CTRL+S, both the Level and the sequence were saved.
Pressing CTRL+S when changes were made to the undocked Sequencer indeed didn’t save them.
It looks like CTRL+S is being routed to the Level, but not the undocked Sequencer: any changes made to the Level are saved, but not the undocked sequence marked dirty.
I’ll make a bug report and share the public tracker once I have it.
All the best,

Hello [mention removed]
I’ve made a JIRA report at: Unreal Engine Issues and Bug Tracker (UE\-307820)
Please note that it can take some time to be made publicly accessible.
We don’t provide updates on EPS, but if you would like to track the resolution, check the link for the status.
I believe we don’t have further actionable issues, so I’ll close the case.
Feel free to reply if you have anything else to add.
All the best,
