Havok engine and REDengine support Crossfire and SLI. I get a huge benifit from Crossfire in the Havok engine. Getting a cheap duplicate card a couple of years later is an inexpensive and obvious upgrade path. Will UE4 ever support Crossfire and SLI?
I was Testing out Gears of War 4 on my computer, and check the difference between having Crossfire on and having it off. Even though the logo was no displaying, performatively having Crossfire on gave a huge boost to overall performance, though rendering was not a perfect as having it off. This is probably due to DirectX 12.
I am not sure but I don’t think UE4 can see the VRAM on my second card. VRAM usage was the same in both test, about 3.5GB, But with Crossfire turned on Benchmark reported about +100 FPS on the CPU and about +30 FPS on the GPU. So having Crossfire on is giving a huge performance boost.
The Glitching I saw with Crossfire turned on may be due to the fact that these cards are older cards (W7000’s), and they are certified cards rather than the typical Gaming cards most people use, but they still work great. Or maybe it’s just a bug that unreal needs to fix. I don’t know.
In 2019 does the Unreal engine, latest version support crossfire or any plans to? I know this is answered but I did’nt want to create same question twice.
