Cross-platform HD Haptics support?

I noticed with SteamVR I can’t buffer haptics like the Oculus SDK suggests is possible, but in principle SteamVR supports things like waveforms & finer haptics, right? Anyone find a decent way to hook into the lower level SteamVR controls, or is “Trigger Haptic Pulse” on Tick the best I’m gonna get?

I figure this should become a bigger priority if UE4’s Switch support gets fleshed out, too…
