[CRITICAL] Enabling Custom Items breaks weapon inventory

Summary

When Custom Items are enabled, weapon icons are broken in the standard Fortnite UI. In the bottom-right in-game HUD, weapon icons are completely missing. When opening the full inventory, different weapons incorrectly display the Pump Shotgun icon instead of their actual icons.

The issue does not occur when Custom Items are disabled.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Create or open a Creative / UEFN island that uses Custom Items.
  2. Enable Custom Items.
  3. Start the game and obtain multiple different weapons.
  4. Check the standard weapon slots in the bottom-right in-game HUD.
  5. Notice that the weapon icons are completely missing.
  6. Open the full inventory.
  7. Notice that different weapons incorrectly display the Pump Shotgun icon, even though they are different weapons.
  8. Disable Custom Items and test again.
  9. Notice that the weapon icons display correctly when Custom Items are disabled.

Weapon icons should display correctly when Custom Items are enabled.

The standard bottom-right HUD should display the correct icon for each weapon, and the full inventory should display each weapon’s actual icon.

Observed Result

When opening the full inventory, different weapons incorrectly display the Pump Shotgun icon, even though they are not Pump Shotguns.

We’re seeing some odd things with the custom widget for the native fortnite hud in our live game as well. We’ll recheck after the Verse VM testing window is over. It would be strange if it’s related, but who knows.

We’re currently testing a new virtual machine for the Verse runtime, which is the likely cause of the issue you’re seeing. Testing should be finished in about two hours. Please let us know if the problem persists after that.

I think this is really verse vm related, because this type of feature is scene graph based and indeed verse bound. So the issue is def. on epic’s end of their SG and inventory frameworks.

yes plz fix fast we have maps to update

Now it works fine
