[CRITICAL] Crashes caused by dropping downed player on mutator zone

Summary

Dropping a knocked-out player onto a Mutator Zone freezes all players in the match and eventually crashes the matchmaking system. This started with update v42.00.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Carry a knocked-out player on your back.
  2. Drop the player onto the Mutator Zone (do not throw).
  3. The entire matchmaking system freezes and eventually crashes.

Expected Result

The knocked-out player should be affected by the Mutator Zone’s effect as intended, without impacting the movement of other players or the match session.

Observed Result

All players in the match become frozen and unable to move. Shortly after, the matchmaking system crashes entirely. This issue only started after the v42.00 update.

Additional Notes

This issue appeared after the v42.00 update and was not present before. It affects all Creative maps, not just a specific one, and impacts the entire match session (not only the players involved in the knock-down). This should be treated as high priority since it makes matchmaking crash for everyone in the match.

It’s the same for me on my map, it’s completely unplayable.

I’m fed up, there are constant bugs (voice chat, matchmaking, it’s just too much)

Same for me, it’s really simple for toxic players to make a general crash

I can confirm that this issue is not limited to mutator zone or volume device.

The crash can also be triggered when a downed/DBNO player is being carried and an team change occurs while they are being carried.

It can also happen with a Barrier Device: if a player who is allowed to pass through the barrier carries a downed player through it, the interaction can also cause the session to crash.

So the issue seems to be more broadly related to carrying a DBNO player while interacting with devices or mechanics that affect player access/team state, rather than being specific to Mutator Zones.
