[CRITICAL] Can not Launch Session: UEFN Crashes

thank you

i’m happy to change any settings if it helps to diagnose this, just let me know

@KeyserScholze your crash seems to point to Water Rendering. Are you doing anything unique or interesting with Water in your project? would it be feasible to delete any water actors in your map and try after?

i have a river and a lake on my island (based on one of the island templates) surrounded by ocean

i’m quite new to UEFN, it’s taken me ages to get this far, i don’t really want to start deleting stuff as i’m worried i won’t be able to put it back the same

i’ve discovered that if i “Exit session” and then “Launch session”, it does not crash, whereas if i “Push Changes” it does crash, so i think i’ll just do that instead

if you can copy my project from version control to use as a test scenario then feel free

Can i send you my crash report as well, i have a 8 maps that keep crashing everytime i try to go open it. It started every since this season started.

@davidpkami this might help your problem could you delete the folder located here:

C:/Users//AppData/Local/UnrealEngine/Common/DerivedDataCache

It’s fine i just did the thing you told DavidP to do & it WORKED!!! Thank you very much

@HalcyonKnight96 Hey there I’ve got the same issue here and I tried removing the folder (DerivedDataCache) you mentioned but it did not help with my crash, I tried verifying, removing and reinstalling the whole app nothing helps. I’ll send the log/dmp files related to this crash, here is also the crash report message I got:

I also choose “send and close” everytime it crashed.

UnrealEditorFortnite.log (2.8 MB)
UEMinidump.dmp (1.7 MB)

May I send my crash report as well? My project keeps crashing every time I launch the session, giving the similar crash report above.

Here are the files from my crash report:
UnrealEditorFortnite.log (9.4 MB)
CrashContext.runtime-xml (187.3 KB)
CrashReportClient.ini (180 Bytes)
UEMinidump.dmp (1021.1 KB)

I get the same error log:

Removing the folder stated above doesn’t fix it for me.

I also found this in my error UnrealEditorFortnite.log

did you ever fix it?

@Kawelo were you able to launch a session and what did you do to fix it? I’ve seen your circus map too, great work.

It kinda fixed itself after the update, but I would recommend restoring your global settings in the NVIDIA control panel under “Manage 3D settings.”
