Creator Code ‘Kaihan’ Blocked Despite Not Being in Use — How Can I Contact Someone Who Can Help?

Summary

Hello UEFN community / Epic staff,

I am seeking guidance regarding an issue with the Fortnite Creator Program that I have been unable to resolve through standard support channels. Specifically, the creator code “Kaihan” is currently blocked and cannot be selected, despite clear evidence that it is not being used by any other creator. I would like to outline the situation and ask for advice on how to contact the appropriate team or individual who can help resolve this.

Evidence and Observations:

When searching the code “Kaihan” in the Item Shop, it returns “creator not found.”

Searching for a creator profile or using the Island Creator Program also shows no results for “Kaihan.”

The code is not in use publicly, meaning no players or creators can redeem it.

Despite this, the system marks the code as unavailable, preventing me from selecting it.

I have attached screenshots clearly showing the above points.

Why This Matters:
I have been a Fortnite player for nearly 8 years and have long-term plans to create original maps and content under my established identity “Kaihan.” Forcing me to use an alternative creator code would:

Create confusion for my audience, who already recognize my brand.

Increase the risk of impersonation within Creative maps and the creator code ecosystem.

Hinder my ability to participate meaningfully in Epic’s Creator Program and grow my community.

Clarification on Process:
I fully understand the steps required to select and change a creator code. I have followed all official instructions and verified that the code is available and meets all eligibility requirements. This is not a misunderstanding or user error — the issue strongly suggests a backend restriction, legacy block, or system error, rather than legitimate use by another creator.

Request for Guidance:
I would like to know how I can get in touch with someone at Epic who has the ability to review this issue at the backend level. My goal is simply to select a creator code that is rightfully available and aligns with my established identity. If a backend review is not possible, I would appreciate confirmation of that as well.

I have attached screenshots showing the item shop search results and Creator Portal search results as proof of the code’s current non-use.

I appreciate any advice or guidance from the community or Epic staff on how to escalate this properly. Thank you for taking the time to read this and for documenting my concerns.

Kind regards,
Kaihan

Creator Portal

Steps to Reproduce

Open the Fortnite Creator Portal or Item Shop.

Search for the creator code “Kaihan.”

Observe that the search returns “creator not found”.

Attempt to select “Kaihan” as a creator code in the Creator Portal.

Observe that the system shows “code unavailable” or blocks selection, despite the code not being in use.

Expected Result

The creator code ‘Kaihan’ should be available to select, since it is not in use by any other creator. Searching the code in the Item Shop or Creator Portal should return the creator profile, and the code should be selectable without error

Observed Result

Searching for the creator code ‘Kaihan’ in the Item Shop or Creator Portal returns ‘creator not found’, and attempting to select the code in the Creator Portal results in an error stating the code is unavailable. The code cannot be selected or linked, even though it is not currently in use by any creator.

Additional Notes

I would like to clarify that, based on the evidence provided, the creator code “Kaihan” is not currently in use. If the system marks it as taken due to a prior registration, that creator is clearly not actively using it, as searches in the Item Shop and Creator Portal return “creator not found”, and there is no Island Creator registered under that name. The code cannot be redeemed or selected by anyone.

This strongly suggests a backend restriction, legacy block, or internal error rather than legitimate use. Being forced to select an alternative code would create confusion for my audience, increase the risk of impersonation, and disrupt my established brand identity.

Screenshots demonstrating the current unavailability of the code and lack of an associated Island Creator profile have been attached for reference. I have followed all official steps to select a creator code, and the issue is not caused by user error.

I would recommend asking epic support for matters like these,

While I don’t actually know what the status of the “Kaihan” creator tag is, I can tell you that just because you can’t use it in the item shop does not mean there’s no active creator with that tag. Currently both Fab and the Island Developer Program both use the same “Creator Code” system, so it’s possible that someone only registered for the IslandCreator or Fab program with that code but not registered for the media creator (sac) program

Here’s a picture from the Fab Publisher Settings which shows that it uses the same creator code that the other programs use. If I change my SaC code it will also automatically update the creator code field on FAB and the Developer Program, the creator codes are linked together

Thank you for the clarification regarding how creator codes are shared across Support-A-Creator, Island Creator, Fab, and other Epic programs. I understand that it is technically possible for a code to be registered internally through a program like Fab or a legacy developer account, even if it is not visible in the Item Shop.

That said, this is where my concern remains. I have checked all publicly accessible systems available to creators and players — including Item Shop creator search, Island Creator profiles, and creator discovery — and there is no creator, island, or profile associated with the name “Kaihan.” I also confirmed that Fab does not provide any public-facing Support-A-Creator field or search functionality that would allow users to validate or discover creator codes there.

If the code is currently registered only internally (for example via Fab or a legacy account), it appears to be completely inactive and undiscoverable from a user and creator perspective. No players can support it, no creator profile exists, and there is no way to identify or interact with the account publicly. In practice, this makes the code functionally unavailable while still preventing eligible creators from selecting it.

I have been a Fortnite player for nearly 8 years and have wanted to create Fortnite maps and original content for a long time. “Kaihan” is my established creator identity and brand name across my platforms. Being required to use an alternative creator code would create avoidable confusion for my audience, weaken brand continuity, and increase the risk of impersonation within Creative maps and the creator code ecosystem.

Because of this, I’m mainly looking to understand how situations like this are normally handled and whether there is a recommended way for someone in my position to have the issue reviewed by the appropriate team. My goal is simply to get clarity on the status of the code and ensure the situation is being evaluated at the correct level.

I have attached screenshots showing that “Kaihan” returns no results in the Item Shop or Island Creator search, and I’m happy to provide any additional information if needed.

If there is a specific Epic team, forum, or process better suited to questions around creator code availability or backend restrictions, I would appreciate being pointed in the right direction.

Thank you again for your time and for helping clarify how the system works.

I’d like to further clarify my situation, as there still appears to be a disconnect between what the system reports internally and what is publicly visible and usable.

The creator code “Kaihan” is not currently in use in any functional or discoverable way. Searching for it in the Item Shop returns “creator not found,” and there is no Island Creator, SaC creator, or searchable creator profile under that name. To my knowledge, this code has never been actively usable or visible at any point over the years I’ve been checking, as I’ve planned to create Fortnite content and maps under this name for a long time.

What makes this particularly frustrating is that the code is not just “taken and active elsewhere” — it is not being used at all in the programs it actually matters for (Item Shop support, Island Creator discovery, or map attribution). If the code is reserved due to legacy or backend reasons, that means it is functionally unused while still being permanently blocked, which feels inherently unfair to eligible creators who genuinely need it for discoverability.

There are also clear precedents of creator codes being shortened or adjusted over time. For example, creators like Courage were able to change their code from “couragejd” to “courage,” despite “courage” almost certainly having been claimed or reserved previously. In my case, the difference is that the code I’m requesting is not active or discoverable anywhere.

“Kaihan” is my established creator identity and the name I have consistently told people I am building Fortnite maps and content around. Being forced to use a longer or altered version would create unnecessary confusion for my audience, make it harder for players to find my maps, and increase the risk of impersonation within Creative and creator codes.

I have previously attached screenshots showing that the code is not in use in the Item Shop or within the Island Creator Program — the two systems I am primarily aiming to use it for. This issue does not appear to be user error or a misunderstanding of the process, but rather a backend restriction that cannot currently be reviewed through standard support channels.

I’m not asking for special treatment — I’m simply asking for this discrepancy to be acknowledged and, if possible, reviewed by someone with access to the appropriate backend systems, as this directly affects my ability to build and grow as a creator under my established identity.
