Hi can anyone recommend the best way to produce a nice looking colored glass material inside of UE4. I’m trying to create a red glass material for the brake lights of a car. So far using translucency and adjusting the opacity has not yielded good results.The material has a milky appearance. Thanks for your help.
I’ve found out that using the default SSS instead of translucency gives the best result. You just place your light source behind the glass, or make it an emissive material if you want a brighter look in which case it would help to use a mask texture for the emssive part. Here you can see an example:
