Creating a stroke/outline effect for a texture

I have a blueprint effect where I create an effect using a UI texture and the outline of the same texture, this is fine on a small scale, but I’m hoping to use an instance of this blueprint with a variety of textures.

For simplicity (and saving me texture space and setting up the same effect with every texture) I was wondering if it is at all possible to create a stroke effect (like that found in photoshop) in the material editor?
