Hello I am looking to create a realistic mirror in EU4.
This was possible with a “Scene Capture Reflect” in UDK but it was removed in EU4.
And the render is not realistic with a “2D Scene Capture” or “Scene Capture Cube”
Would you have advice for this?
Thank you for your responses
Sorry. That situation sucks: the new reflection system is great for many things, but not for simple mirrors… And they had a system that worked perfectly in UDK, I don’t understand why they removed it in UE4.
Nothing new from my side unfortunately. It looks like right now there is no way to do that, which is quite disappointing. And surprising, I still don’t undertand why it hasn’t been ported to UE4… Maybe in a future version?
This is really disappointing.
I work on a project where the player can look in the mirror for now I use a “2D Scene Capture” but I will try to import the “Scene Capture Reflect” with the source code.
The documentation linked on this post is currently the way to achieve the mirror effect you are looking for. There are other ways to increase the quality of your reflection by increasing the resolution of your screen capture 2D texture and increasing the reflections quality of your scenes global post process volume. Try both of these to see if your reflection is not a bit crisper.
