Create and Control lighting for my own scene

Hey guys,

i want to make lighting for my own scene and take in the end a cool render result out of it but i dont know where to start first to get all right and well done. i put my scene in a first person start level and deleted all BSP and objects. i got now only my scene, and all assets i created for the scene in it. i also placed some SphereRefelctionCaputes

i got also these things and i dont touched them actually:

-first person controller
(Lighting):
-DirectionalLightStationary
-LighmassImportanceVolume
(RenderFX):
-AtmosphericFog
-Global PostProcess
-SkySphereBlueprint

i have these questions:

  1. how can i set my scene that i only got the light from the sun and the lights i place myself?

  2. what abou the self illuminating stuff. is it active or not? where can i check it

  3. How to create realistic reflctions and let only the sun light or the light from the outside come through my windows?

  4. does i only need to build the light after setting all up correctly?

  5. how can i change the background from the SkySphere to take my own HDRI in it. maybe to have a city or something which i can see when i look out of my scene windows?

  1. just delete all other lights that you have in your level
  2. when you want to see the final result, you will have to build your light
  3. Just import another texture - create a material - apply the material to the sphere. When it doesnt work, make sure to take a look at this tutorial: ://3dbrushwork/tutorials/ (the last tutorial on the page -> it’s for udk, but it should work the same for the UE4 + you dont have to do all steps, because later on he also adds moving clouds)
