Create a Tube for a Lamp

Hey guys :slight_smile:
I’m very new to the UE; downloaded it an hour ago and allready occupied my first problem.
I tried googling for solutions, but (maybe because english is not my first language) I could not find what I was looking for.

For my very first “something” I wanted to create a small room inside a house.
To get some light inside of there, I wanted to have a lamp, which looks like this for now:

But this looks dumb.
The Lampshade just looks like a white block.
I wanted it to look a little bit more like this:

But I have absolutly no clue how to create such a Tube.
I tried using two cylinders, making one invisible, one of glass, on transparent, and so on; but as I am new, I haven’t found a good looking solution yet.
If you could give me any tips, on how to creat something like my stated example, I’d be super happy. :slight_smile:

That will help me a lot.

Now, let’s say, the surface should not be glass or seen through, so a general Pipe/Tube.
Let’s image a Lamp from Ikea for example…

In that case you will have to use subsurface scattering in your material :slight_smile:
