Crash while working with material editor

UE4 crashes every time I try to select/copy/paste or drag a group of nodes in a complex material.

It appears to happen when you select a group of parameter nodes only. It seems not occur, if any other node(Static bool or float for example) is present in the selection.

Crash is reproducible in a blank new project with the same material or new material.

I just attempted to recreate this crash and I was unable to. I tried moving, copying, or pasting only parameter nodes. I was unable to reproduce the crash. I did note that you last updated your video card in March. If you would update your drivers and attempt this again. After that please let me know if this fixes the issue.

I’ve just updated the drivers. Issue is still there. Exact steps how this can re-created:

  1. Create new blank project with no starter content
  2. Create new material
  3. Place the nodes somewhat like this:

  1. Drag a selection around the nodes several times and on one of the mouse releases the mouse the editor crashes with this log:

I was still unable to reproduce this issue on my end. Your logs do not provide a callstack. When the editor crashes you will see a crash reporter window pop up asking for you to submit a little feedback regarding your crash. This also includes your Machine ID as well as your Epic ID and callstack. If you would reproduce this crash, write a brief description in the reporter and submit that, and then finally copy and paste your machine ID and Epic ID here. This way I can search our internal database for your crash and go from there.

Thank you for submitting your crash report. This is a known issue and has been assigned the bug number of UE-20401.

This bug has been reported fixed as of 4.11. I just ran a test and I was able to select one node and ctrl + click the other node and saw no crash. This is an issue with 4.10 where you try to select a scalar Parameter and a Vector Parameter in the material editor.
