When using a behavior tree service with explicit parameters (such as a float value for range), I found this: if the BT asset is open for viewing execution flow/debugging, the game will crash on PIE in BlueprintNodeHelper::DescribeRuntimeValues. If the asset is not open on PIE, the game will execute fine. Any time after starting running, if the BT asset is opened, the crash will occur.
A pro tip: when talking about crashes always attach a callstack Otherwise we might be just guessing what went wrong.
Hey FXS_DMcDonough,
Mieszko is correct, we’ll need to gather some more information before we can begin to investigate this crash.
Could you please provide the following information:
- Your Machine ID (if you are getting a crash reporter window) and ensure to hit Send & Close on the report.
- Logs from your project’s Saved->Logs folder after the crash occurs.
- A detailed list of repro steps so we can reproduce the issue on our end.
Thanks
Of course, happy to help. I can’t provide those in a public forum, so if you can open a ticket or send me a private email I can attach all that information for you.
You can PM me the information on the forums. Here’s a link to my profile https://forums.unrealengine.com/member.php?160394-Sean-Flint
Hey, I tried to do this but PMs don’t seem to accept attachments. Thoughts?
I recommend zipping up the necessary files and uploading them to Dropbox or Google Drive. You can then PM me a download link so I can download the zip file.
Thanks
I reposted on UDN so that I can send the docs confidentially.
Sounds good, I’m going to mark this topic as resolved for the meantime so that we can follow up with you on UDN.
Thanks
