Crash on load c++ & Header Changes not updating

Hi

I’ve been using Visual Studio 2022 and UE5.3 for about 6 months with no issues at all.

However recently after a silly hot reload my editor crashes on load. No biggie delete Binaries and Intermediate, and rebuild. Everything is fine and the editor loads no worries.

I can also compile fine. Until I close the editor and compile header changes. Reopen the editor and my changes to blueprints are not visible. Unless I delete Binaries and Intermediate, and rebuild.

I’ve seen a few people run into this issue on the forums but a lot of the response is always build from VS. Yes I get that but building from VS with the editor closed isnt working. It definly used to work like that way.

Just wondering where I should even look. The only gears turning for me is to upgrade to 5.4 which on not to keen on.

Ive also cleaned and rebuilt from VS.

The fixable crash on editor load is
Objects have the same fully qualified name but different paths but they have the same path

Perhaps live coding re-enabled itself after the temp folders deletion and recompile? It can interfere with simultaneous VS compiling & override changes.

Do you have debugging symbols installed to show a more detailed crash report?. It may narrow down if a specific asset it causing problems (could need a bp recompile or re-parenting if c++ parent class went missing during the hot reload).
