Hello everyone,
I’m writing this post because for about a month now, I haven’t been able to use RealityCapture or RealityScan properly.
Every time I try to perform meshing with Normal/High Detail settings, the application crashes, and in some cases I even get a blue screen (BSOD). The error message is always the same:
CUDA error: (999). Please try updating your CUDA driver.
CUDA error: 999 – unknown error
System specs:
GPU: RTX 4080 Laptop
OS: Windows 11
CPU: Intel Core i9
RAM: 64 GB
This happens with any dataset, even with projects of just 25 images.
Worth noting: meshing in Preview mode works perfectly fine, but Normal Detail mode crashes every time.
Things I’ve already tried (unsuccessfully):
- Updated the NVIDIA drivers to the latest version
- Completely removed GPU drivers using DDU, then installed Studio driver 572.16
- Tested with RealityCapture 1.5.1, 1.4.2, and RealityScan 2.0
- Fully uninstalled and reinstalled the software
- Performed a partial Windows reset (kept personal files)
Despite all these attempts, the issue persists.
Has anyone experienced something similar, or has any idea what could be causing this?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
