Correct setup for FixRotateAboutAxisNormals?

I’m feeling a bit stupid, because this should be quite straightforward, but somehow I can’t get the normals after a rotate about axis to work.

I use unreal engine 5.5.1. To exclude any issues with projects etc, I created a new blank project, then created a new material. I use the following node setup, from what I have read this should work?

However, you can see that the lighting is not correct:

I think I’m missing something very basic, but I can’t figure out what’s wrong here?

I’ve just checked, same thing happens in version 5.4.4.

Thanks, interesting tutorial!

However, it turns out there never really was an issue with my setup to begin with. When I look at the viewport of the material editor, I get the following:

However, when I put exactly the same material on a cube in a level, there’s no issue at all!

So the following node setup works to rotate an object over time, just don’t let yourself be fooled by what’s shown in the material editor viewport…

Though I have to say it would be interesting to know why the material editor viewport shows this strange behaviour…
