Hey, this post describes pretty much the exact issue I’m having, both cooking and packaging -
Packaging Opens Second Unreal Instance, Gets Stuck, “Completes” With 200MB Build
I can’t find this issue mentioned anywhere except for in the post above, and the only solution seems to be to reinstall Windows or have a second copy of Windows installed on an SSD, which I don’t really want to do.
To go into a little further detail, beginning a cook immediately opens the Unreal project browser (or will load straight into the last opened project if that checkbox is ticked) in a new window.
The cook then gets to this stage before hanging -
Closing the second window results in the cook completing after waiting 60 seconds.
It returns a ‘Cooking complete!’ notification with this output log -
Although saying it was successful, no Cooked content shows in the Saved folder.
Interesting note, if I cancel the cook manually the second editor window automatically closes.
I’ve tried cooking one of my own projects, a blank game project with no starter content and the Lyra sample project, all have the same problem.
I’m running Windows 10, UE5.4.4
It’s also happening with UE5.3.2 however I’m able to cook projects in UE4.27 without any issue.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
