hello
im trying to make a city model based on some gis and cad data of that city.
the cad has data on the location of trees and poles in the city in the form of a small plane in the map.
after i replaced static mesh of the small planes in BP to a tree mesh is there a way to turn all those tree actors in a foliage instance?
also is there a way to do this in Dataprep? @ UE_FlavienP
any advice is appreciated
thanks

thanks for your response.
does this have the same efficiency as if you build it with foliage painter?
also i would like to have the option to turn off the trees in runtime is this doable with batch.
after creating it there is nothing to select in outliner or do i need use some thing else like merge?
If you choose this option
it’s exactly the same as foliage.
Can you elaborate? All of them, or just one or two?
Merge turns them into one big mesh, you don’t want that…

i would like to turn them all off with a button in ui for optimization and also for a option to see the city block without the trees.
After conversion, you have a single actor, which you can show/hide
