When using HardwareBuffer to support WebBrowser for solving off-screen rendering performance issues, it is found that HardwareBuffer has poor support for Dimensity 9000 chips. Are there any solutions?
Modified the source code of Unreal Engine 5.6 to support rendering WebBrowser using HardwareBuffer.
Hi XinHao,
What sort of issue are you seeing with HardwareBuffers on the Mediatek chip? Are you seeing the same issue with the HardwareBuffer path in the Electra video player? Do you have a driver version associated to it? UE doesn’t currently implement hardware buffer path for web browser so may be useful if you can share a repro along with your engine edits.
Best regards
During the test of the HardwareBuffer-based Electra Video Player, we found that playback issues also occur on Dimensity 9000, resulting in screen artifacts. Could you please let us know if this issue will be resolved in subsequent updates?
Hi XinHoa,
Are you able to share a screenshot or video of the artifacts so we can better assess the hardware/driver specific issue?
Best regards.
