Contact shadows (reprised)

At this point it’s really like a bad movie.
I’m aware it’s a screen-space effect. Wondering if there is a built in way I’m not privy to which can be used to prevent it on a specific mesh.
Something like tossing it into a custom stencil or similar?

I wish. Personally I would like it to work at a specific depth (Dirt cheap far shadow alternative) AND on specific meshes.

if you want to prevent an object from receiving contact shadows, well it’s just like with regular dynamic shadows: not the way the renderer works

… when .26 is finally “ready” that’ll be nice.
