Community roles not working for usernames with special characters

Summary

There appears to be an issue when adding members or assigning roles in Fortnite Communities if the username contains special characters. Even when the user is already part of the community and has interacted within it, the system fails to recognize the username during role assignment.

Creator Portal

Steps to Reproduce

-Open a Fortnite Community.
-Ensure the user has already joined the community and replied to a community post.
-Attempt to assign a role to that user.
-Enter or search for the username containing special characters (for example accents or non-standard symbols like “é”, “à”, …).

Expected Result

Members and roles should be added or assigned correctly regardless of special characters in names.

Observed Result

The username is not found by the system, even though the user is already in the community and has posted. This makes it impossible to assign a role to that member.

Additional Notes

This limits moderation and community management, especially for international users whose usernames commonly include accented characters or symbols.
