Actually, is implemented in Blender. Blender’s Automatic Weighting Tool is based on algorithm. Blender calls it Bone Heat Weighting. There is also an abandon Maya plugin on Creative crash but the author has long since abandoned the project. He does provide the source, if you want it.

Reducto by Psycho Core, a Wayne Robson project.

What is ReDucto?

ReDucto is a stand alone polygon reduction application that both ships with MudWalker X and on its own. It uses a totally unique algorithm found no where else.

Reducto is a great optimization tool for obj files. It can perform several optimizations to an obj file in addition to polygon reduction, including Tri-Stripping, Baking Ambient Occlusions and Normals to Vertex color, Mesh/Scan noise Reduction, severeal types of subdivision, hole filing as well as some normal fixing tools and others.

If you are a Mudbox 2014 user, he has a tool called Mudwalker X2 that is GOZ for Mudbox (in fact GOZ was created after he created the original MudWalker), that can work locally and across a network. can send your data to any program that accepts obj or fbx files, and comes with Reducto and a second algorithm for use only by mudbox for polygon reduction.

You must install the original MudWalker X from the Reducto page first. The X2 adds Mudbox 2014 support and the network features.

he also has a mudbox 2014 plugin called BlendWiz.

Thanks to Wayne Robson for giving these away.

For those of you that don’t have the 2014 version, if you are a student, or have an Autodesk subscription, you have access to the 2014 version, that you can use. I recommend installing 2014 first, if you can.

Here is a great Wood texture generator. http://www.spiralgraphics.biz/ww_overview.htm
It is very easy to use, and can make textures up to 3000x3000.

That’s pretty cool!! Their other texture tool looks good too, good find 94

You’re welcome

Are AutoDesk Mudbox 2015 or 2014 necessary for the Mudwalker x and Reducto?!Because well it says free for students but Im no student and I just want to have acces to Reducto and Mudwalker not Mudbox 2015 which isn’t free…Is it free If I’ll make an account for Autodesk :stuck_out_tongue: ?!

So not for Reducto, no. Yes for Mudwalker X. And it works specifically with Mudbox 2014, not newer versions.

Now, Autodesk will let you sign up for the student version, whether you are a student or not. They look the other way, because they figure you will eventually buy their software, and giving you access to it for a few years will make you dependant on it.

Thanks for Feedback… Epic Forum is one of the few places in internet that you can acces to valuable information. There is not many good forum in the internet espically if you’re looking for technical support or any kind of recommendation about software/hardware etc.

There’s also free 3d modelling/texturing and also a rendering software:Art of Illusion=http://www.artofillusion.org/
And Of course famous Daz3D…3d modelling/animation software but I wouldn’t recommend software for gaming development because it has several issues with UE4 and also it’s not that of a great modelling program if you’re going to export the models anyways but it’s still a powerfull software for animating/posing etc. so I still wanted to recommend it to those Who didn’t hear about it which I’ll doubt that because it’s pretty famous and advertised but it’s still a helpful software so:Daz 3D - 3D Models and 3D Software | Daz 3D
Well, like I said before you might better go with something like Blender/Sculptris/Make Human/K-3D for free instead of Daz3D.But it’s still one of the best softwares out there that you can get for free.

It’s shame there is no good terrain generator programs for free World Machine-Free for personal…Vue-Free for personal…Terragen-Free for personal use …And I looked at Terresculptor again…It’s not free…So annoying…

You can’t expect most things to be free as soon as you hit the commercial stage. People want to get payed for their work, and the fact that they provide the tools for free for personal use is already a nice.
World Machine’s price (99$-249$-1500$, depending on the version) is fair in my opinion for what you get.
But if you really don’t want to spend money on that or you can’t, try L3DT’s free version which includes commercial use (note: haven’t tried it myself): L3DT - Large 3D Terrain Generator
Another generator I found is Lithosphere, I never heard of it but it looks alright: http://lithosphere.codeflow.org/

L3DT’s free version is pretty pathetic though…Seriously I don’t even really like L3DT…I would prefer World Machine,Vue or Terragen and I don’t know…Geomorph if I had Linux…

Shoebox :o : Sprite pivots, frame sheets, extract tiles, texture ripper… just …watch it (Requires Adobe Air runtime).
