Can we use the free textures from Substance Database for free because Unreal Engine is free or…Atleast can we use it if we’re making a non-commercial Project?!Does anyone know the answer?!
Hi John, the database requires payment but the license allows for commercial use. There’s Substance Share though, everything on that site is free and uses the creative commons license CC BY 4.0 Deed | Attribution 4.0 International | Creative Commons
Thanks for reply man.Epic community is seriously helpful.
Mixamo Fuse is free now. Apparently Adobe purchased them and made everything you do with Fuse free. That includes auto-rig, animations etc…etc… Literally just found out now.
''For a limited time, get all these goodies for free with an Adobe ID. ‘’ So is it free or not?!That’s whar I’ve read from official Mixamo site.Is it like a trial or If I have Adobe ID I just can use it for free…???
currently free but said to be a paid service in future, however no date determined exactly.
Please, for the love of god, includeGameTextures.comYou can get rid of all the other links to other texture resource sites, roughly 1,000 PBR textures.
The team behind the textures are some of the most friendly, helpful and community driven I have come across in recent years, I have been with them for 2 months and have collected over 600 textures.
The subscription plan’s are very forgiving to us indie developers, $30USD a month for 200 texture downloads and 2 free requests. Bonuses include a 10-day trial where you can download free 200 textures, if you decide to subscribe you instantly get another 200 free, I have gotten every texture I need from their site but I loved their service so much I decided I would keep my subscription going for 1-2 more months
Example
Take a look at their tour http://gametextures.com/blog/tour/
Hi Ethan, site is very good but thread is for free resources only and as site requires a subscription it is not suitable for list.
Maybe put a disclaimer about being able to snag 200 free textures with the trial?
Sorry, just love them to pieces
I’d rather just keep it to free stuff with no subscriptions, feel free to start a thread of good paid resources though.
Consider adding my blog. I’ll keep everything updated, and keep being active. I’ll explain my findings to others, and explain in details how I make things work.

CeltX is good for story and plot authoring.
Thanks for sharing Ethan.‘‘CeltX is good for story and plot authoring’’ What is CeltX?!A program or something?
Hey guys.
Just came across website. Has a lot of really high-def textures (as well as being tileable) and they are completely free.

Wow, is awesome! I noticed though that your link to opengame art only includes their textures. The also have sounds, models, and 2d assets as well. If you search by CC0 license you can use those works without worrying about license. Most of the other licenses mostly just require attribution, but the terms aren’t too hard to find. Also for anyone that knows how to compose or read sheet music, musescore.com is a great program for composing. It’s what I use for my music.
Hi! Here’s a torrent for the 10gb sfx pack that Sonniss released for GDC 2015. You’ll find a link to the Sonniss website and the license for the sounds in the description area. I downloaded the pack and its legit.
Maybe it’ll end up on a dedicated server eventually so people don’t have to torrent it, I guess Soniss can’t handle the traffic to permanently host it.

Look out when you go to tf3dm.com many of the models are copyrighed content extracted illegally from commercial game files. Make sure that you don’t use any of those in a public release
Texture Packer

Easy to use Software to create Blitter in Json (a million other formats) and straight paper2d. Really useful for 2D and very good in terms of saving texture space.
I am a newbie here, happy day to find so many source, thank you so much!
A command line tool for manipulating images. I use it to with the non-Pro version of World Builder to do my own landscape splits (i.e. I export one single 16k landscape from WB, use ImageMagick to do the splitting). Mac/Linux/Windows versions available.
